Creative Ways to Thank Customers for Their Jewelry Purchases

With Thanksgiving approaching, you’ll want to consider how to thank customers for choosing your jewelry. In today’s marketplace, customers have many options, and you should never take their support for granted. When a customer makes a purchase, that purchase is more than a monetary transaction – it’s an energetic endorsement.

Have you been searching for some creative ways to thank your customers? We’ve compiled a few ideas in this blog post.

Send a handwritten “thank you” note to past customers.

One of the most memorable brand interactions I’ve ever had was with Chewy, an online retailer of pet food and other pet-related products. Ever since I can remember being a customer, they’ve sent me a handwritten holiday card that included more than one sentence of heartfelt text, thanking me for being a customer and wishing me well. If you can carve out the time and energy to do this for all your past customers, you may not be able to see the immediate effects – but know that you’ll be leaving a lasting impression and creating a customer for life.

For every purchase made between Thanksgiving and the New Year, include a handwritten note – and maybe a small gift or special discounts.

One of my favorite things about ordering products from eBay or Etsy is that occasionally I’ll receive a handwritten note from the seller in my package. These notes are no more than a few words long, but the handwritten aspect of the note reminds me that there’s a person on the other end of the transaction. It makes me feel like I’ve received a gift, even if I only ordered something for myself. Beautiful, branded stationary is a nice touch that doesn’t have to cost a lot of money.

In addition, consider including a small token of your appreciation like a jewelry cleaning cloth or a storage pouch. The gift could also be unrelated to jewelry but still in line with your brand – like a unique candy, a sticker, or even a small souvenir from the city where your jewelry is made.

Another thing you can add to the package is a postcard with a special promotion code, exclusive to customers.

Send an email.

Do you think that sending a “thank you” email on Thanksgiving is too cliche? Think again. Most people don”t hear the words “thank you” often enough, and a heartfelt “thank you” to your email newsletter subscribers can have a major impact on them. Devote this email solely to showing your gratitude, not to advertising Black Friday promotions or introducing new products. To take it one step further, personalize the email with the subscriber’s name (in Mailchimp, you can use Merge Tags to accomplish this).

Host a holiday event.

One unique way to thank your customers is to host an event – either in person or virtual – that’s exclusive to them. An in-person event can be an invite-only cocktail party or styling event that makes your customers feel like VIPs.

If your customers are located all over the country or world, you may want to consider hosting a virtual event, like a giveaway that only your past customers can enter. Or, use a dedicated hashtag to invite customers to post their own content – like photos of them wearing your jewelry – and then choose one customer and post a in-depth profile of that customer on your blog.

Remember that a little gratitude can go a long way. How will you be thanking your customers this season?
